I, wearing my Dr. September Williams hat, will attend the 29th Dorothy J. MacLean Clinical Medical Ethics Conference at University of Chicago - This is Dr. Williams 27th year at this conference. Though the conference updates individual didactic information related to clinical ethics - it is the relationship between colleagues who have worked on issues of implemention of the Helsinki Declaration in the real world -- day in and day out for years--that has kept me returning to Chicago each fall. Though densely academic, the conference is open to all annually - as a way of promoting and supporting clinical medical ethics.
Each November, The MacLean Center hosts the Dorothy J. MacLean Conference, which focuses on topics related to clinical medical ethics. This year's conference will feature a keynote lecture from Dr. Paul Farmer, winner of the 2017 MacLean Prize and co-founder of Partners In Health.
