The terms of the Minamata Convention on Mercury signed in 2012 in Japan require that 50 nations follow up with commitments to enact. 41 have done so. The conference of signatures will be in Geneva -- a working session to pull together the work everyone has done to hit the ground running to implement the convention.-- clean up of mercury, decreasing emissions, replacing mercury containing technology. -- And I hope we will see some reparations from companies for the danger to lives will come as well.
The work of Implementation will begin in Geneva in the fall! I am so happy I have lived to see this convention come to life-- it will result in more than the clean up of mercury but other things as well.
